Brimfield Awakening
I am excited to share the story of the Brimfield block with you!
A few months ago I had the pleasure of coming across Kim Martucci & Nisha Bouri, of Brimfield Awakening, who are lucky enough to live near the Brimfield Antique Flea Market.
During one of their more recent visits to this multi-acre market, they unearthed a bag of orphaned quilt blocks, including this:
Kim & Nisha said it was love at 1st sight - they went home and started remaking this block using English Paper Piecing.
What they weren't expecting, was this incredible secondary pattern that the blocks offer once sewn together.
They are so in love with the Brimfield Block and the versatility that the design offers that they have created a new way to bring you Paper Pieces! The house shapes that make up the blocks include perforations. This way you can make the design truly your own - you can use one fabric, or 2 fabrics on each piece, by simply pulling the Papers apart! How cool is that?
To make the Brimfield block quilt you will need to purchase the pattern, acrylic templates, and paper pieces (or these paper pieces. ) The paper pieces are unique - they have perforation. This allows you the flexibility to create more pieces for additional fussy cutting
Brimfield Block Acrylic Templates
Here are the four Brimfield Block acrylic templates you will need to make the Brimfield Blocks and Quilt - Short House, Fat House, Tall House and Orange Peel. The house templates have drilled holes so you can sub-divide the house roof into separate pieces.
